Efficient waveguide power combiners at mm‐wave frequencies

In this study, an efficient power combiner for mm-wave frequency transmitters is investigated. The based on a parallel plate waveguide (PPW) excited with multiple feeds. Doherty scheme also integrated in the proposed concept, to increase efficiency of amplifiers when implementing amplitude modulation. advantage PPW respect other concepts, example, ones substrate-integrated waveguide, wider bandwidth and scalability arbitrary number inputs. Measured results from demonstrator realised standard printed circuit board technology are presented. Two variations implemented, one terminated 50 Ω coaxial output, another antenna. latter case, folded so that both antenna fit within half wavelength size, thus would be compatible dense array implementation.
